Chiropractor
Miriam McParland D.C.
Dr. McParland has been helping people achieve better health for the past two and a half decades. She and her staff strive for excellence by providing specific chiropractic care, nutritional counseling, massage, and rehabilitation.
Dr. Miriam McParland has been trained and certified in a variety of services and techniques and is an RGCC practitioner. Here at Integrated Health Solutions, we can treat a variety of injuries and issues.
Since 1988, Dr. Miriam McParland has been involved with chiropractic and health care. Dr. McParland worked side by side with her late husband operating and managing a very successful chiropractic clinic in Northlake before his untimely death. After having to sell the practice Dr. McParland went back to school and received her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2014 and is once again doing what she loves by serving her community.

Our advanced medical team consisting of a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, and chiropractic care strives for excellence by providing specific chiropractic care, nutritional counseling, massage, and rehabilitation.

Chiropractor
Mimi McParland D.C.
Dr. Mimi is a third-generation chiropractor who graduated summa cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She has a passion for holistic fertility and prenatal care, and is dedicated to helping couples conceive, have healthy pregnancies, births, and raise healthy children.
Dr. Mimi specializes in fertility and perinatal care–preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. She is Webster certified—the gold standard prenatal assessment and adjusting technique. She is also a BIRTHFIT leader and has taken multiple other intensive courses in holistic fertility.
Dr. Mimi’s approach to fertility is this: fertility is an expression of health. Many lifestyle and environmental factors impact a couple’s fertility, and there are many things we can do to change a fertility story for the better. To learn more, schedule a consultation!
Dr. Mimi helps couples conceive naturally, as well as support their bodies and prepare for the most optimal outcome if going through fertility treatments such as IVF, IUI, and more.
In her spare time, Dr. Mimi enjoys being with family and friends, learning, hiking (anything in nature!), playing the piano, and attending nearly any music event or festival.
Chiropractor
Douglas Blunk D.C.
Dr. Douglas Blunk is a 2005 graduate of the National University of Health Sciences. He is a lifelong Illinois resident, growing up in Joliet. He was introduced to Chiropractic care at a young age and feels that helping others heal without the use of medications or invasive treatments is something he was always interested in.
As the son of two educators, one high school physics teacher and one math teacher, he feels that education of body mechanics, posture, and how outside stressors affect the body are very important. He feels that an understanding of the root cause of one's problem allows patients to not only progress well in active care but take better care of themselves moving forward and avoid potential setbacks or other conditions.
His chiropractic focus has been in rehabilitation with a combination of manual techniques and specific doctor guided exercises. He enjoys working in a group setting with multiple disciplines to help achieve best outcomes for patients. Dr. Doug has taken additional courses in dry needling, various taping applications as well as McKenzie technique. He feels that being well versed in various treatment techniques allows him to best meet the needs of patients.
In his free time Dr. Doug enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters on various outdoor adventures with his favorite spot being Glacier National Park. He is an avid golfer and hiker.
Board Certified Physician
Avida Bussell M.D.
Dr. Bussell is a board certified emergency medicine physician with thirteen years of community-based practice. She is also board certified in obesity medicine and currently seeking certification in functional medicine.
She has a special interest in non-pharmaceutical alternative health interventions including food and plant-derived nutraceuticals including essential oils.
Dr. Bussell earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and Business Management from Northwestern University in 1992. In 2008, she earned her M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago College Of Medicine. Dr. Bussell completed residency training in emergency medicine at John H. Stroger Cook County Hospital.
Dr. Bussell has worked tirelessly to provide exceptional medical care to
patients and families. Her patient care experiences with chronic illness and pain management heightened her interest in safe, alternative, and complementary interventions. She believes an integrative approach to medicine is key to addressing the “opioid-pain crisis” and the alarming rise in chronic illness across generations.
Physician Assistant
Susan Gomez P.A.-C.
Susan has a passion for patient education and helping people. She believes by utilizing an integrated approach to medicine so she may provide the best care for her patients.
Susan T. Gomez has been a nationally certified Physician Assistant since 1995. She earned her degree of Bachelor of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Her spark for medicine began while serving in the United States Air Force as a Medic. She has worked in various healthcare settings throughout her career. Previous Physician Assistant work experiences include Orthopedic Surgery, Occupational Medicine, Weight Loss, and Internal Medicine.
She has a passion for patient education and helping people. She believes by utilizing an integrated approach to medicine so she may provide the best care for her patients. Susan is excited to be able to offer nonaddictive and nonsurgical pain management solutions that are safer alternative treatments than surgery or opioids.
Susan resides in Blue Island with her husband Mario, daughter Michaela and son Ben. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes the dog, Zippy! She enjoys gardening, reading, and watching movies.
Patient Liaison
Hanan Mousa
Hanan graduated from Richard Daley College in 2005 with a degree in liberal arts and sciences. Before Integrated Health Solutions she worked in commercial banking for 10 years, however she had always felt a calling to her passion of health and fitness.
Joining the Integrated Health Solutions team was a seamless transition and in her own words, “One of the best decisions of my life!” Hanan enjoys spending time with her nephews and nieces, watching sports, and taking walks daily.

Medical Assistant
Yesenia Ochoa
Yesenia has worked in the medical field since 2007. She has worked in pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine.
My name is Yesenia. I’ve worked in the medical field since 2007. I started off working in Pediatrics, which I truly enjoyed for 7 years. Then moved into working with Family Medicine for 3 years and finally finished off with working with Internal Medicine for a little over 3 years. I took a break once the pandemic started. I have 3 boys who keep me super busy! I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, and dancing. I’m currently in school pursuing a career in nursing, and look forward to the day I graduate!

Melina Reiter
Melina has always felt very passionate about helping to rehabilitate patients through exercise and nutrition.
Hi my name is Melina and I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2022. I majored in Kinesiology and am currently working to acquire more experience for Physician’s Assistant school. I have always felt very passionate about my major and helping to rehabilitate patients through exercise and nutrition. It was a perfect fit when I first found Integrated Health Solutions. Previously I worked as a physical therapy tech in my undergraduate years. I am happy to continue to use those skills to work with patients with their exercises and help them achieve their goals.
In my free time I like to hike, find new restaurants/ coffee shops with my friends, watch crime documentaries and hangout with my pets!

Liz Kotula
Liz has been working in marketing for nine years and has a strong passion for creativity and connecting with others. In her down time, she enjoys podcasting, reading, cooking and watching films.
Leslie
Leslie recently graduated with her masters in Exercise Physiology and specializes in Cardiac Rehabilitation. At a young age she found her passion in fitness and health. She is a certified exercise physiologist since 2021. In her free time she likes to spend time with family, her dog Hershey, play golf, go to sporting events and travel.
Ashley
Ashley has been with Integrated Health Solutions for over two years as a chiropractic assistant and is a certified phlebotomist. She loves caring for her patients and helping them get into better health. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids and having fun and cooking.

Charlie
Charlie is a lover and not a fighter. He enjoys long walks, countless amounts of treats, swimming and hanging out with family, staff and patients.
Charlie joined our team in October of 2016 and comes to us with the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face!! When Charlie arrived in Orland Park IL from Michigan, he was shy but through lots of treats, petting, and play, he has become everyone’s favorite part of our team. He loves to swim, chew dog toys up that patients bring in, play chase, and sleep. His long-term goal is to increase his ability to see more new patients. “BTW, I don’t shed much.”
Charlie is a lover and not a fighter. He enjoys long walks, countless amounts of treats, swimming, and hanging out with family, staff, and patients. “Sometimes it’s difficult to know where I am as I am soft-spoken and don’t bark a lot. I love all the natural, healthy dog treats our patients bring in for me to enjoy!!”
Charlie lives with his mom Dr. Miriam, Scott, and his other human siblings who have grown up and moved out, so he gets the house to himself most of the time, except when Matthew, Mimi, and Daniel come to visit.
“The best part of my day is going to work and seeing all of our patients. I love my job of greeting patients and providing comfort whenever I can. The kids REALLY love me and are gentle most of the time.”
